Warmed up nicely this morning… 40 degrees!

warmed_up_12_1_15_kingsAfter a couple of really cold rides, it felt pretty darned awesome to see nothing lower than 32 degrees, and an average all the way up to 41! The bright sunshine likely didn’t hurt either.

Kevin, Kevin, JR & Eric this morning. Kevin (my son) was having fun with his new Stages power meter (yes, we sell them, yes, they’re really cool) while older pilot Kevin was suffering from The Plague. Yeah, looks like he’s got the same thing I’ve been fighting for two weeks+. Think I’m finally seeing the end of it.

Younger Kevin went flying off the front, Eric throttled back around the park, I held up to keep an eye on the Pilot and JR was somewhere in the middle. One nice thing about younger Kevin having a power meter is that I have one more way of checking out his ride other than being with him, which is good since he’s getting a whole lot faster lately so once the road tilts up, I don’t see much of him.

It was so nice out there that it’s hard to believe there’s rain in the forecast for Thursday (but if you can believe the hourly listings, it’s not supposed to rain until 11am, more than an hour after our ride finishes). Either way, I’m ready; sure, I’d rather ride my nice bike (Trek Emonda SLR) but as they say, we need the rain.
